Hanmadi (한마디, "a word") is a free set of Korean learning tools for people who are learning Korean as a foreign language. Every tool works right in your browser, with no sign-up and no app to download.
What we focus on
- Show, don't lecture. Each tool gives you an answer you can see and hear: the romanization, the real pronunciation, the right particle, the correct verb ending.
- Only what helps. 19 tools, each built for a step real learners get stuck on.
- Accurate and sourced. Romanization follows the official Revised Romanization of Korean. TOPIK information links to the official TOPIK site, with the date it was checked.
- Original content. All example sentences, word lists and phrases are written by Hanmadi. We do not copy textbooks, song lyrics, drama scripts or past TOPIK questions.
Privacy by design
Your progress (flashcards, streaks, planner) is stored only in your own browser. Audio uses the voice built into your device, so nothing you type is sent to a server.
Costs
The site is funded by advertising. Ads never appear on top of a tool or inside the study planner app.
